It amuses me when people say Katie can’t act because hold on who was in a freaking MADONNA movie?? Who won best baddy? Who didn’t even need drama school to be THIS flawless? Saying, she can’t act only makes me laugh because it shows how many people are jealous of her.

AMEN.

okay, seriously, i’m glad people are so fond of her, but i did find some of her acting - especially when she started going dark-side - not particularly good. however, as the show progressed, her skills definitely seemed to mature (as seen in season four). and to say, ‘well, you couldn’t do any better’ is probably true, but also silly. everyone criticizes everyone and everything even though they have no professional skill whatsoever. ever not liked a book or a movie? well, there you go.

and, sure, of course i’m super envious of her! who wouldn’t be? she’s gorgeous, funny, nice and gets a killer role in the coolest show ever. just not in a mean-spirited way. i love her to death, HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean i’m not able to have opinions about her acting. what a lot of people don’t seem to understand is that many parts of acting business will rely more on looks than skill, which was likely in her favor too. i understand that people are protective of her, but come on. don’t just assume that everyone is jealous and that there is no basis for their opinions. because she’s the only one who people have consistently accused for as doing bad acting, more than any other character.

what personally offends me is the generalization that everyone who has pointed to katie’s acting is just stupid, jealous, or whatever else. because i can love the show, love katie, love morgana, and still have objective opinions from how the acting was executed in particular ways. that does not make me a bad person. i can easily handle someone disagreeing, but it is always a step too far when you start throwing insults.
